I went to check out the cafe because I had heard about it on Facebook and through a bunch of friends. Ride Inn is a beautiful little homestay about 5kms outside Manali in a village called Shanag, just off the Manali-Leh highway. The cafe is on the terrace and has some of the best views of the valley around. From one end you can see all of Vashisht and on the other side you get a clear view of Solang and even Rohtang. It's a very motorcyclist oriented cafe although that need not stop non-motorcyclists from visiting the place. The cafe serves a mix of Indian, Himachali and Thai food and has some really good music playing all the time. The rooms are beautifully appointed. There are tents as well just outside in the orchard which has several apple, apricot, cherry and walnut trees.

The best part about Ride Inn are the hosts. Godwin and Snehal are renowned hair stylists from Mumbai who have now moved and started up in Manali. They are very involved with running the place and are incredible hosts. They'll make you sure you feel at home and well taken care of. Godwin has a lot of experience travelling in these parts and is rather helpful by providing tips and suggestions to travellers.

I went for a coffee and stayed back for the entire evening, had dinner and left late. Also came back the next day for breakfast and a haircut by Godwin. Enough said :)

Ride Inn is a special place. It's just a few kms away from Manali. It is surrounded by Apple orchards and is a beautiful abode for travelers. It has a great view of the mountains surrounding the village. The tariff is reasonable and the rooms are beautiful, well lit and maintained. They also have tents at very affordable prices. Godwin and Snehal are wonderful hosts. They made sure I was comfortable and I had an excellent Himachali dinner and breakfast. It is a calm place that I will revisit on my rides and along with my friends as well. It is a place where one experiences travel talks from various kinds of travelers, especially motorcyclists. The food menu is Indian and very delicious! The direction to Ride Inn is well marked and easy to get to from the city. Godwin also has latest updates through his sources on the Manali-Leh highway and it would be worthwhile to check with him before riding/driving up to Leh from Manali.
